It creeps, and leaps, and glides, and slides – that’s right, it’s back! We are officially announcing the 13th annual Blobfest, July 13-15. It returns this year with the traditional Friday Night Run Out, Saturday Streetfair, double features and Sunday matinee. We are now accepting submissions to our Shorty Film Contest. The submission deadline is June 22 at midnight. There is far too much Blobfest information to include in this newsletter, so please be sure to click on the links above for pricing info and schedules (there are a few more details to come, keep checking the website). The IMPORTANT PART: tickets go on sale Friday, Jun 1 at 10AM. The Run Out sells out very quickly, so make sure you get your tickets and tell your friends!
Our new feature film this week is The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. With an all-star cast including Judi Dench, Tom Wilkinson, Dev Patel, Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy, it is a delightful Indian dish!
We end our classic film theme, “teachers,” with The Blackboard Jungle. It stars Glenn Ford as teacher Richard Dadier, Sidney Poitier, and Vic Morrow. Watch for an appearance by a young Jamie Farr (credited as Jameel Farah).
