Mid-August Lunch

Directed by Gianni Di Gregorio. Italy. 2008. NR. 75 min.

Fri, Jul 2 thru Thu, Jul 8 -- Roll over to view showtimes.

“The ladies who lunch in Gianni Di Gregorio’s luminous sliver of a film, Mid-August Lunch, are Roman women in their 80s and beyond who have gathered in a small condominium in the Trastevere neighborhood. The modest apartment is the home of Gianni (Mr. Di Gregorio), an unemployed 50-something bachelor, and his 93-year-old mother, Valeria (Valeria De Franciscis). More»

Jaws

Directed by Steven Spielberg. US. 1975. PG-13. 124 min.

Sponsored by Iron Hill Brewery

  • Fri, Jul 2, 9:45 pm

There are very few films in the history of cinema that can be considered perfect. Jaws (1975) is, without a doubt, one of them. Plagued with production problems of all sorts Jaws emerged as the first summer blockbuster and changed movies forever. To coincide with the exact weekend in the film the Colonial will be screening Steven Spielberg’s first Academy Award nominated film. This is a true classic of the silver screen and one of the most quotable movies of all time. Get to the theater early because there is a good chance “we’re going to need a bigger boat.” (Bob Trate)
