Annual Appeal Gift

Dear Friend,

As you plan your holiday giving this season, consider how a contribution to the Colonial Theatre will make an exciting cultural, social, and economic impact on our community. Your support over the years has helped to make the Colonial a big success – and it has fueled the vibrancy of our community!

A recent study by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance demonstrated that arts and culture generate economic prosperity. The cultural sector is not only the civic glue in a community, it is “a significant economic driver in the Philadelphia region,” reports President, Tom Kaiden. You’ve seen it with your own eyes – right here in Phoenixville. Our restaurants, art galleries, boutique shops create an undeniable vibe.

The spark for a good deal of this energy made an appearance on October 1, 1999. Perhaps you were one of the 300 people, who after months of fundraising, construction, and anticipation, lined up on Bridge Street to come back to the Colonial. During the next thirteen years, additional friends contributed talent, resources, and a wealth of ideas to produce the vibrant programming that serves our community and attracts a wide, regional audience. Friends like you made the successes of the last thirteen years possible.

The board, staff, and passionate volunteers who form the Association for the Colonial Theatre (ACT) are excited about moving into our 14th year of operation as stewards of the Colonial Theatre. As we add new programming opportunities for young adults, celebrate the installation of the pipe organ with silent films and special concerts, and renew our commitment to the popular Point Entertainment Music Series, we’ve become acutely aware of the need to expand our venue space to meet increasing demand. Anticipating this need, ACT recently acquired an historic building located right next door. We are spending a great deal of time strategically preparing for our expansion.

I wanted to update you on our plans and also remind you what the Colonial brings to our community and region. As a non-profit organization, our dynamic programming is funded by generous individuals – people like you who value and understand the ways the Colonial enriches our lives and invigorates our local economy.

Please consider a generous gift this year. Your ongoing support is what makes our exciting programming possible. When ACT first came to you years ago, we asked you to Invest in a Community Treasure. Let’s keep that investment growing!!

Ready to make a gift? It is so easy now! You can make your tax-deductible contribution online or if you prefer, you can mail a check to:

Sincerely,
