In 1996 when the former owner decided to sell the theatre, a group of concerned citizens realized it was time to forever protect the legacy of the the Colonial for future generations. The Association for the Colonial Theatre (ACT) purchased the theatre and is committed to the full restoration of the this gem as a cultural arts center. Thanks to the generosity of many over the past 14 years, the renovation process continues. The Colonial is open every day offering a variety of art and independent films, classics, children’s programs and live concerts. You can support this important asset in our community by becoming a member. Your contribution will help sustain the Colonial’s day to day operations and at the same time boost the resurgence of downtown Phoenixville.
