I'm doing the email early again this week because of the holiday tomorrow. We'll be back to our regular schedule next week. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas will be here for two more nights. It plays tonight (Tuesday) at 7:30 and Thursday at 7:30. On Friday at 7:30 we start our next feature, Synechdoche, NY. We also have a special run this weekend of WALL-E. It will screen on Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun at 5:00 each day.
We have a mid-week family matinee on Thursday, New Year's Day. We'll be screening Clueless (1995) at 2pm. The film is a riff on Jane Austen's Emma, is smarter and funnier than you might expect, and is appropriate for ages 12+.
In our children's series slot, at 2pm this Saturday, we're kicking off a month of Westerns with High Noon (1952) starring Gary Cooper. Our classic films in January feature Errol Flynn and we're starting that series off on Sunday at 2pm with Captain Blood (1935). High Noon is appropriate for ages 10+ and Captain Blood is good for ages 8+.
This Friday is First Friday Fright Night and we're screening Brian DePalma's 1974 goth/rock musical The Phantom of the Paradise at 10pm. More info is below.
In case you missed it last week, here's our latest BlobFest news: First, we want to mention that we have these super cool, commemorative Blob Stamps for sale. Information on how to get them is on our website. Second, Entertainment Weekly has a story up on their website called Movie Monsters! 12 Big-Screen Behemoths and the monster near and dear to our hearts came in at an impressive No. 3! Click here to see it. And third, the dates for BlobFest 10 are July 10 – 12, 2009!
Finally, please note that we will be CLOSED on New Year's Eve, and OPEN on New Year's Day. Wishing you all a peaceful holiday and a brave new year – cheers!
Thanks for your support and we'll see you at the theatre!
