We're holding onto The Counterfeiters (2007), winner this year's Oscar for Best Foreign Picture, for another week. The feature film schedule is a little unusual for a few weeks after that, so please check out the features section of our website to find out what's coming up. We have two films that are playing for one night only (Walking on Water and Carpati), and two films that are only playing for 4 or 5 nights (Chicago 10 and Sarkar Raj). Also, please note that the theatre will be closed this Monday for Memorial Day.
This Saturday at 2pm our children's program is a live concert — The History of the Delta Blues — a great event for kids, parents and grandparents. Tickets are $10 and $8 for kids and members of the theatre. Next Sunday, May 31, we bring the 2007-08 Children's Series to a close with our annual screening of The Wizard of Oz, sponsored by Bayada Nurses.
On Sunday at 2pm we wrap up our Sherlock Holmes month with the 1959 Peter Cushing version of The Hound of the Baskervilles. Next month our theme is Great Escapes and we're screening Brute Force, Stalag 17, The Dirty Dozen, The Great Escape, and Stir Crazy.
Rocky Horror fans rejoice! This year's screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been booked for Saturday, July 19 at 10pm. Tickets are $10/$8 for Colonial members and will available for purchase one week before the show.
Finally, apropos of nothing, the Clio Awards (for advertising) were handed out last week, and this commercial, although simple, was particularly brilliant in idea and execution. Click here to read about all the winners on the Clio website. From there, you can click on any of the still shots to see the commercial. Enjoy!
Thanks for your support and we'll see you at the theatre!
