Frozen River, which has earned ubiquitous praise from critics, starts tomorrow (Friday) at 7:30pm. Click here to read the accolades on metacritic.com, my new favorite review portal.

We continue our month of early Steadicam® films this Sunday at 2pm with Blow Out (1981), a film that my sister and I fondly identify as an "early cable movie." It got its fair share of broadcast time on the likes of PRISM and HBO back when those channels were just getting started and had only a few titles with which to fill 24 hours a day of programming. (I can't count the number of times we watched Stripes). Philadelphia figures prominently in the film's climax — maybe that's why PRISM showed it so frequently. Don't forget — Garrett Brown will be back to introduce The Shining at 1:30pm on Sunday, Oct 26.

Our Children's Series continues with the Annual Kiwanis Halloween Party on Saturday at 2pm. The program, October Tales, is free to everyone in the community! Kids are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes and parade across our stage after the show.

Thanks for your support and we'll see you at the theatre!
