Spend a Week at the Colonial: Dec 18 – 23

EMQ-Publicity3

Fantastic Mr. Fox has its last screening tonight at 7:30PM. Red Cliff, the John Woo-directed Chinese epic, starts tomorrow, Friday at 7:30PM. We have a couple concerts this week, so Red Cliff will not have a screening everyday. Be sure to check the schedule before you come. An Education starts on Dec 26 and The Maid starts on Jan 8. Please note that we will be closed on Dec 24, 25 & 31.

This Saturday at 2PM it’s our perennial favorite, A Christmas Story. This show tends to fill up, so consider buying your tickets in advance and online — it’s the fastest and cheapest way to buy tickets to all of our shows! We are grateful for Konell Insurance for sponsoring this show.

Our other perennial holiday favorite, It’s a Wonderful Life is showing this Sunday at 2PM. Thanks to Carnevale Eustis Architects for sponsoring this film for the second year in a row!

We wrap up our live concerts for December this week with two great shows: The Eric Mintel Quartet on Sun, Dec 20 at 7PM and Ted The Fiddler’s Big Time Birthday Bash on Wed, Dec 23 at 8PM. More info is below. Tickets can be purchased online for both shows..

A couple of other things to note: In the next few days I will (finally!) post all of our classics, kids programs and special events for Jan – Mar to the website. So, keep an eye out for those.

Secondly, many of you have gotten our annual appeal letter in the mail already, and will soon receive our newsletter for Jan thru Mar. Please take a moment to check your name and address on the label. If you need to make any corrections or want to make sure we have your email address and/or phone number, you may do so online. Click here to get to the user profile page of our database. (There is also a link on every page of our website to “Edit/Update your Profile). If you haven’t used our new online system yet to purchase tickets, just follow the prompts to create a login and password. In the next screen enter your contact info. The database will match you to our existing records. A few minutes of your time can save us hours of work, so thank you for helping us keep our database accurate!

Our Third Annual Robert Burns Memorial Whisky Tasting is set for Fri, Jan 29 at 6PM. This event is a fun way to support the Colonial (and drink whisky, and eat chocolate and cheese, and socialize – need we say more?!) This year all proceeds are going to help fund our Classics on Sundays film series. Tickets are $100 per person and can be purchased online. (They make a pretty cool gift!)

Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
