Spend a Week at the Colonial: Apr 9 – 15

Crazy Heart has its last screening tonight at 7:30PM. Richie Havens is here on Friday night and Sonny Landreth is here on Saturday night. Both shows are at 8PM and tickets are still available.

The White Ribbon (nominated for this year’s Best Foreign Film Oscar) has a short run next week – Sunday thru Thursday.

The Last Station starts on Apr 23, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo starts on May 1, and Sweet Grass starts on May 28.

Our Young Audiences show for this Saturday (2PM) is Eragon (2006). Next week we’re showing The Princess Bride, and then we wrap up our season with The Wizard of Oz on Apr 24. We do, however, have one live family performance scheduled this spring: Village Productions and Tri-PAC present Rapunzel, directed by Phoenixvillian Tom Bissinger, on Sat, May 15 at 7PM. Tickets are $17 / $15 / $13 and will be available for online purchase starting tomorrow.

On Sunday we start paying tribute to the terrific baseball films that came out in the 1980s with Eight Men Out at 2PM.

Coming soon: City Rhythm Orchestra‘s tribute to Frank Sinatra and Count Basie on Apr 18 at 7PM, Forbidden Planet on Apr 16 at 7:30PM, Living in Oblivion on Apr 20 at 6PM, TEDTalks Tuesdays on Apr 27 at 7PM.

Ticketing update: As of Apr 30 our lowest ticket price ($4) will increase to $5. This is our first increase of the member/child ticket price in 10 years and we hope you will agree that it is still affordable. The first film to be affected by the increase is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which starts on May 1. Please note that this increase will also affect the films in the Young Audiences Series starting next October.

Concert update: Asia featuring John Payne (Jun 11) has been canceled and will be rescheduled for the fall, although we do not have a date yet. Tickets will be refunded at the place of purchase.
