Happy New Year! Today is the start of a new fiscal year for the Colonial and we’ve made a few resolutions. Some were easy, like spinning off our MST3K and cult film screenings into their own bonafide monthly series, or moving the documentary series into the auditorium to give those films the more cinematic and theatrical screenings they deserve. Others were harder, but all were necessary if we’re going to continue to grow as an organization. One of the hardest decisions was to raise some of our ticket service fees to help cover our increasing ticket and credit card processing costs.
The good news is prices to our weekly feature, classic, and young audiences FILMS will remain unchanged ($8/$6/$5 for features and classics; and $5 for young audiences).
Here are the immediate changes:
1) First Friday Fright Night and Cult Series tickets will now incur a $1 per ticket service fee. This fee will be the same no matter how you purchase your tickets – online, over the phone, or at the door.
2) Tickets to our Young Audiences LIVE programs will incur a $1.50 per ticket service fee no matter how you purchase your tickets – online, over the phone, or at the door.
We’d also like to mention a small way you can help us save money – by purchasing your FILM tickets at the door. This saves us processing fees and every little bit helps.
We hope you understand the reason we have had to raise some fees, and further hope that this does not impact your attendance at the Colonial. If you have any concerns about how these changes might affect your attendance please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 610-917-1228.
Remember, if you are a frequent movie-goer, remember that membership is a great way to save yourself some money. Membership starts at $40 per year, entitles you to $5 film tickets (instead of $8), and supports the Colonial.
Now on to our programming —
Our new movie this week is Point Blank, a thrill-a-minute French action film. Tonight is your last chance to see Beginners at 7:30PM. Following Point Blank our Fright Night film is Pieces. This may be the slasher film to beat all slasher films!
You’re going to love our September Classic theme: the films of Robert Altman. We begin with the ultimate Altman: M*A*S*H. Like the movie poster says “You’re not a real M*A*S*H fan until you’ve seen the original.”
Miss our last theatre tour? Our next tour is THIS Sunday at 1PM. Meet us by the box office for informative theatre fun then join us for M*A*S*H at 2PM.
We just added Uriah Heep to our concert schedule! They will appear October 6. Check the website or Facebook for the onsale date soon!
Please note that we are closed Monday for Labor Day. Have a great holiday!
Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
