Spend a Week at the Colonial Dec 7 – Dec 13

As the year comes to an end please consider a gift to The Colonial Theatre. Your support is what makes our exciting programming possible. When ACT first reopened the Colonial, we asked you to Invest in a Community Treasure. Let’s keep that investment growing!! If you didn’t receive a request in the mail, call us and we can send it out – or just click here. Thank you!

Our new feature this week is The Sessions. There is a lot of Oscar buzz around this compassionate, sometimes funny film starring John Hawkes, Helen Hunt and William H. Macy. Tonight is your last chance to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower at 7:30. If you are coming to see the feature film Saturday night, be aware that the Firebird Festival will be taking place in town and plan accordingly.

Following our feature, our Friday night Fright Night film is Black Christmas! Come see what happens to a group of sorority girls over Christmas break.

Our children’s film this Saturday at 2PM is Gremlins. This film is recommended for children ages 9 and older.

Sunday at 3PM The Theatre Organ Society of the Delaware Valley presents a Holiday Pipe Organ Concert. This program includes Laurel and Hardy’s comedy Big Business, with Wayne Zimmerman providing live accompaniment as well as a concert by guest organist Joe Pantano. Tickets can be purchased online, over the phone or at the box office.

Come to the Colonial for laughs? You bet! Starting in February, Point Entertainment presents the kick off of a monthly comedy series: Tom Papa in February, Two Funny Philly Guys in March, Craig Shoemaker in April and Paula Poundstone in May. Click show links for dates and ticket prices. Tickets go on sale Friday (tomorrow) morning at 10AM.

Two new concerts are coming: John Mayall on Feb 8 at 8PM and Steve Forbert and Paul Thorn on Mar 22 at 8PM. Tickets for these concerts also go on sale Friday (tomorrow) morning at 10AM.

We’d like to mention a production by our friends at Peoples Light and Theatre Company. Nov 29-Dec 23 they are presenting a one-man show of This Wonderful Life, starring Jerry Richardson. Click HERE for tickets and more information.

While we’re on the subject of the holidays, don’t forget our own family tradition in December. The film It’s a Wonderful Life, sponsored by Upattinas School plays Dec 22 at 4:30PM and Dec 23 at 2PM. Get your tickets here now and avoid the box office lines.

Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
