Spend a Week at the Colonial Feb 10 – Feb 16

Our new feature this week is Oscar Nominated Short Films. We will be screening Animated, Live Action, and Documentary shorts. Be sure to check the schedule for times and type of short film. Tonight is your last chance to see The Descendants at 7:30.

There will be no kids programming this Saturday. Join us next Saturday, Feb 18 for The Secret of Moonacre.

Our classic film this Sunday is Mrs. Miniver, starring Greer Garson in the role in which she won an Oscar. It also features Walter Pidgeon and Teresa Wright.

This week our documentary by Errol Morris is The Fog of War. Winner of the Oscar for Best Documentary in 2004, it is a profile of former Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara and discussion around his experiences from World War II to Vietnam.

Our friends, the Devil Music Ensemble, have an opportunity to perform their live original soundtrack to the only remaining full length silent kung fu film Red Heroine (1929) in China. This will be the first performance/screening of this film in China since before the Cultural Revolution. The Jue Festival of Music and Art has invited the DME to perform in Beijing and Shanghai. To pay for the trip they have started a fundraising campaign. They would love for you to watch their video, donate, and help spread the word. Best of luck to DME!

Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
