Spend a Week at the Colonial Apr 26 – May 2

Tickets go on sale at 10AM tomorrow (Apr 26) for singer songwriter Marc Cohn, Jun 8, 8PM. The quickest, easiest way to get your tickets is online.

Join us this Sunday, Apr 28 at 4PM for a special screening of Sparrows with Live Pipe Organ Accompaniment. This silent classic stars Mary Pickford and features wonderful organ accompaniment by Ben Model. In addition, Christel Schmidt, editor of Mary Pickford: Queen of the Movies (co-published by the Library of Congress and the University Press of Kentucky) will present the program and sign copies of her book. Tickets may be purchased online here.

Our new feature film this week will be The Place Beyond the Pines. It is the story of a motorcycle stunt rider (Ryan Gosling) who turns to robbing banks as a way to provide for his lover and their newborn child. The film also stars Eva Mendes and Bradley Cooper. Tonight (Apr 25) is your last chance to see Lore at 7:30PM.

Saturday afternoon (Apr 27) at 2PM our kids’ film is Back to the Future. Marty McFly, a typical American teenager of the Eighties, is accidentally sent back to 1955. He must make certain his teenage parents-to-be meet and fall in love – so he can get back to the future.

A special talk on the history of our Wurlitzer Organ #585 is happening as part of the Historic Colonial Tour Sunday. Members of the Theatre Organ Society of the Delaware Valley will explain the history and importance of our grand theatre organ. RSVP for the tour by calling 610-917-1228. (Please note this tour starts at 2:30, so you can attend before the silent film Sparrows).

We’re hiring! The Colonial has a full-time Development Associate position available. You can read all about it here. If interested, please email your resume to Mary by Wednesday, May 8.

Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
