Spend a Week at the Colonial Mar 1 – Mar 7

Our new feature film this week is Amour. Come see this touching film about an elderly French couple who live in a Parisian apartment until an unexpected event causes them to reevaluate their lives. Tonight (Feb 28) is your last chance to see Silver Linings Playbook at 7:30.

Following the feature tomorrow (Mar 1) we are screening our Fright Night film The Mist. We will also be screening the pilot episode of The Walking Dead. Both films, by director Frank Darabont will be screened in black and white, as Darabont originally intended. Don’t miss them!

Saturday afternoon (Mar 2) kids ages 5 and older will enjoy Kristin Pedemonti. Storyteller Kristin Pedemonti will present a show entitled Release YOUR Inner Superhero. Kids are encouraged to dress as a superhero, real or imagined!

Great news – our theatre Tour is going weekly! That’s right – now every Sunday at 12:30, you have the opportunity to visit the interior of our newly acquired bank building, and learn the story behind the theatre. Please RSVP by calling the theatre by 5PM the Saturday before.

Our new Classic series theme is Late 60s/Early 70s crime drama. We begin Sunday (Mar 3) at 2PM with Charley Varrick. The film stars Walter Matthau and Joe Don Baker in story in which a man, his wife, and their friend stage a bloody bank robbery, unaware they are stealing money from the Mob.

Sunday (Mar 3) at 4:30 our documentary is The House I Live In. Director Eugene Jarecki takes a penetrating look inside America’s criminal justice system, revealing the profound human rights implications of U.S. drug policy.

The Colonial on TV: Al Stewart’s concert here last October will be broadcast on WHYY’s On Canvas, tonight (Feb 28) at 10PM and Mar 3 at 4:30PM. Don’t miss it!
