Spend a Week at the Colonial May 30 – Jun 5

Tickets for Blobfest 2014 will go on sale tomorrow, May 30 at 10:00AM! The theme this year is “Clash of the Kaiju” (kaiju means “monster” in Japanese). This means our double features this year will include The Blob with Mothra, King Kong vs. Godzilla and The Giant Spider. The fastest, easiest way to get tickets is online. Remember Blob fans: tickets for the Friday Night Run Out sell out in minutes, so if you’re not available to buy tickets May 30 at 10AM, find a friend who is if you want to get in!

The Shorty Amateur Trailer Contest has begun – and the deadline is 9:00AM on MONDAY, JUNE 23, 2014. Note that this year we are accepting trailers only (instead of short films), and their limit is 3 minutes (vs. 5 minutes in prior years). For more information on the contest, click here.

Our new feature film this week is Fading Gigolo. Fioravante (John Turturro, also directing) decides to become a professional Don Juan as a way of making money to help his cash-strapped friend, Murray (Woody Allen). With Murray acting as his “manager”, the duo quickly finds themselves caught up in the crosscurrents of love and money. Tonight is your last chance to see Only Lovers Left Alive at 7:30.

We are bringing a special feature presentation to the Colonial the week of Jun 6: the recorded theatrical production of Driving Miss Daisy, starring Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones. Tickets are on sale now! (We regret that movie passes and Senior Circle discounts cannot be used for these screenings.)

Come on down this Sunday at 12:30 for an exclusive tour of the theatre and a visit to preview 225 Bridge St. Please RSVP by 5PM Saturday by calling 610-917-1228, giving us the names of all attending.

Our Classic film theme this month is “Reinventing the Wheel,” films whose co-stars are the vehicles being driven. We begin this Sunday with The Wild One, starring Marlon Brando and Lee Marvin.

Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
