Spend a Week at the Colonial Dec 4 – Dec 10

We’re in the news! Go to Page 13 of the Route 422 Business Advisor for a great story about the revitalization of Phoenixville, featuring the Colonial Theatre. Thanks to Barry Cassidy for the story!

A note on Friday evening in Phoenixville: The Christmas Parade and tree lighting is this Friday evening. Bridge Street will be closed from Starr Street to the Borough Hall from 5PM -9PM. If you do have to arrive in town after 6PM, please park behind Customers Bank at 99 Bridge Street (near Starr Street) if you are traveling from the east. From the North, please come over the Main Street Bridge and park behind the Colonial. From the west or south you should access the parking lots south of Bridge Street. Thank you for your patience and enjoy your evening in Phoenixville. It will be truly festive!!

Our new feature film starting Friday is Trumbo. Bryan Cranston gives the performance of a lifetime. He is truly Oscar worthy as Dalton Trumbo, a witty screen writer who, as a communist, fought for the right to be a member of the party when everyone in Hollywood saw him as a traitor. The film beautifully transports the viewer to old Hollywood. Screening times are different this week so please check the schedule below. Tonight is your last chance to see Suffragette at 7:30.

Friday following our feature, our Fright Night film is Rare Exports at 10PM, sponsored by Jon Ewald. Featuring beer sponsored by Sly Fox Brewing Company and the RARE EXPORTS: A CHRISTMAS TALE Ugly Sweater Contest (it’s cold in Finland, Krampus is one ugly dude), for a chance to win one of two grand prizes in one of two categories: 1) Ugliest sweater or 2) Best handmade ugly sweater. See you there!

Saturday at 2PM Phoenixville Federal Bank and Trust present their Annual Christmas Party. Bring the kids to meet Santa. Tickets are free but MUST be picked up in advance at any PFB&T branch.

Sunday at 2PM, The Theatre Organ Society of the Delaware Valley presents Winter Theatre Organ Concert. This Sunday’s concert features performances by Glenn Hough, Brett Miller, and Wayne Zimmerman Sr. Tickets are available online here.

Don’t forget, Phoenixville First is running a fun passport program. You have through Dec 4 to ask local merchants to write in your total purchase amount and their initials and business name on a passport they provide. Collect 5, and drop off your passport at the Phoenixville Chamber office or at Borough Hall to be eligible for cool prizes! Click here for more details.

Join us the first and third Sundays of each month at 12:30 for an exclusive tour of the theatre and a visit to 225 Bridge St. Please RSVP by 5PM Thursday by calling 610-917-1228 and giving us the names of all attending.

Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
