We are carrying over our feature film this week: Love & Mercy. In the 1960s, Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson struggles with emerging psychosis as he attempts to craft his avant-garde pop masterpiece. In the 1980s, he is a broken, confused man under the 24-hour watch of shady therapist Dr. Eugene Landy.
Our Classic film this Sunday at 2PM is Viva Las Vegas. Lucky Jackson (Elvis Presley) arrives in town with his car literally in tow ready for the first Las Vegas Grand Prix – once he has the money to buy an engine. He gets the cash easily enough but mislays it when the pretty swimming pool manageress takes his mind off things. It seems he will lose both race and girl, problems made more difficult by rivalry from Elmo Mancini, fellow racer and womanizer. Perhaps some singing will help. Oh, and if you look close, you may see an uncredited Teri Garr as ‘showgirl.’
