May’s Community Cinema film on Wed, May 20 at 5:30PM, Limited Partnership, chronicles the story of Filipino American Richard Adams and Australian Tony Sullivan and their ongoing four decade fight to get equal treatment for a same-sex marriage. Join us for a FREE sneak-peak screening before it airs on Independent Lens/PBS. This screening is free, but registration is required by signing up online.
Tickets are still available for the One Night Only Comedy and Variety Festival, Saturday, May 16 at 8PM. Join us for this funny variety show of stand-ups and other performers, including a contortionist, a one man band and a yo-yoer. Tickets are available online here.
Our new feature this week is Gett: The Trial of Viviane Amsalem. An Israeli woman (Ronit Elkabetz) fights for three years to obtain a divorce (a ‘gett’) from her devout husband (Simon Abkarian), who refuses to grant his permission to dissolve the marriage. Tonight is your last chance to see What We Do in the Shadows at 7:30. If you are a fan of the “mockumentary” genre, we HIGHLY recommend you catch this film tonight!
Our classic film this Sunday is All That Heaven Allows. An upper-class widow (Jane Wyman) falls in love with a much younger, down-to-earth nurseryman (Rock Hudson), much to the disapproval of her children and criticism of her country club peers.
Join us next Sunday at 12:30 for an exclusive tour of the theatre and a visit to preview 225 Bridge St. Please RSVP by 5PM Saturday by calling 610-917-1228, giving us the names of all attending.
Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
