THE LADY IN THE VAN

This Tuesday, Apr 5 at 5PM, join the board of directors, campaign team, staff, volunteers, members, and donors as we reveal the details and celebrate the public announcement of our Bank on the Arts ‘Groundbreaking’ Ceremony & Public Campaign Launch. As proud owners of the historic Bank of Phoenixville Building next to the theatre, the Colonial is adding two smaller theatres for film, a spacious lobby, expanded patron amenities – and more! Join us for our symbolic “groundbreaking” and announcement of the public capital campaign. No tickets necessary. See you there! (Note that the feature film that night will screen at 8PM)

Rev yourself up for the Pennsylvania primary by laughing along with The Capital Steps, next April 8 at 8PM. As always, the best way to get tickets is online.

Our new feature film this week is The Lady in the Van. Dame Maggie Smith stars in this comedy as Miss Shepherd. Alex Jennings stars as the man who forms an unexpected bond with Miss Shepherd, a transient woman living in her van that’s parked in his driveway. Tonight is your last chance to see 45 Years at 7:30.

Following our feature Friday, we are screening our Fright Night film, The Burning at 9:45. A former summer camp caretaker, horribly burned from a prank gone wrong, lurks around an upstate New York summer camp bent on killing the teenagers responsible for his disfigurement. Pick up a great screen print by artist Chris Garafolo.

Our Young Audiences live show Saturday at 2PM is The Cat’s Pajamas. Bring the family for some very cool, high octane rock for kids! Our next live program the One Night Only Comedy and Variety Festival is coming Saturday, Apr 16 at 7PM.

Our classic film this Sunday at 2PM is Gunga Din. Director George Stevens created a story in 19th century India, in which three British soldiers (Cary Grant, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Victor McLaglen) and a native waterbearer (Sam Jaffe) must stop a secret mass revival of the murderous Thuggee cult before it can rampage across the land.

Join us the first and third Sundays of each month at 12:30 for an exclusive tour of the theatre and a visit to 225 Bridge St. Please RSVP by 5PM Thursday by calling 610-917-1228 and giving us the names of all attending.

Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
