Big news! We’ve been keeping a huge secret that we are finally ready to reveal: an $8M secret to be exact!! On April 5, 2016 at 5:00 PM, the campaign team, board and staff of the Colonial Theatre will host a public groundbreaking ceremony to mark the beginning of construction in the historic, ca. 1925 Bank of Phoenixville Building – and announce the launch of our public fundraising campaign!

We hope you can come out and join us for the celebration! Reservations and tickets are not required for this event. For more information about the Bank on the Arts Campaign, email bankonthearts@thecolonialtheatre.com.

Our new feature film this week is Anomalisa. Playwright Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) directs this film about a man crippled by the mundanity of his life who experiences something out of the ordinary. Tonight is your last chance to see The Revenant at 7:30.

Following our feature Friday night, stay for our Cult film at 9:45, Drunken Master 2. Jackie Chan stars in this kung-fu action film that is a perfectly serendipitous melding of impossible fight choreography and clever humor. Stay up late with us for this very rare screening.

The young audiences film Saturday at 2PM is the Steven Spielberg blockbuster, Raiders of the Lost Ark, sponsored by The Great American Pub & Hotel. We’re expecting quite a crowd for this film, so be sure to arrive early, and buy your tickets online ahead of time!

We have a few tickets left for Two Funny Philly Guys, Saturday at 8PM. As always, the best way to buy them is online.

Our classic film this Sunday at 2PM is director Jean Cocteau’s Beauty and the Beast (1946). Cocteau’s vision is a marvel of living statues and disembodied arms holding candles aloft that populate the twilight world of the Beast’s castle. Don’t miss it!

Sunday at 4:30, Royal Opera House presents La Traviata. Join us for Verdi’s stunning opera as performed by The Royal Opera, filmed in the Winter 2015/16 season.

Join us the first and third Sundays of each month at 12:30 for an exclusive tour of the theatre and a visit to 225 Bridge St. Please RSVP by 5PM Thursday by calling 610-917-1228 and giving us the names of all attending.

Thanks for your support and we’ll see you at the theatre!
