In this comedic twist on Pygmalion and The Prince and the Pauper, the roles of wealthy executive Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd) and homeless conman Billy Ray Valentine (Eddie Murphy) are switched by betting brokers Mortimer (Don Ameche) and Randolph Duke (Ralph Bellamy). While Louis learns what it’s like to be down-and-out, Billy Ray enjoys the high life –complete with a posh home and loyal servant Colman (Denholm Elliott). When Louis and Billy Ray realize that their current states are courtesy of the Dukes whims, they plot sweet revenge. Set and filmed in Philadelphia, by director John Landis (Animal House, The Blues Brothers), this comedy classic also stars Jamie Lee Curtis (Halloween), Paul Gleeson (The Breakfast Club), Frank Oz (The Muppets) and legendary rocker Bo Diddley.
