“Shall we play a game?” asks the computer that’s illegally accessed by too-smart-for-his-own-good high school hacker David Lightman (Matthew Broderick). Believing he’s hacked into a system for a software company, David begins playing a videogame called Global Thermonuclear War. What David doesn’t realize is that he’s not playing a game – and his opponent is the supercomputer responsible for overseeing America’s nuclear missile launch control centers. One of the biggest hits of 1983 and nominated for a Best Screenplay Academy Award, WarGames is as relevant today as it was when it was released. Its software and technology may have aged, but its message is still powerful.

The 4:30pm screening on Tue, Oct 17 will be Sensory Friendly. Our Sensory Friendly Screenings offer a more inclusive atmosphere because we believe that everyone should enjoy their time at the movies. During Sensory Friendly Screenings the theatre lights will remain on, the volume will be turned down, and our “no talking during the film” rule will not be enforced. To accommodate any dietary needs and restrictions, individuals may bring their own snacks to enjoy during the film. The Colonial welcomes movie lovers of all ages and abilities. We hope you and your family will join us and enjoy the show!
