Planned Giving

There was no way of knowing in 1902, when Harry Brownback bought the building that would become Phoenixville’s Colonial Theatre, what would become of his modest dream.

Remarkably, his small, $30,000 investment in the building now owned by the Association for the Colonial Theatre has been protected for 113 years and counting through the energy and generosity of many friends and donors.

Planned giving is an opportunity to leave the same legacy for future generations. By considering the Colonial Theatre in your gift planning, you can ensure that another century of arts and cultural programming has a venue for expression 0n our stage and screen.

The Medallion Society

The Medallion Society recognizes our community of friends who have chosen to remember the Colonial Theatre with a bequest or other planned gift. There are no dues or fees associated with membership in this Planned Giving Society. Society members protect the future of the Colonial Theatre as an historic landmark, an arts and cultural center, and an economic catalyst. They recognize and preserve the unique role that the Colonial Theatre has had and will continue to have in our region.

Planned Giving to the Colonial Theatre can have a profound impact on our work and also, help you to achieve your financial and charitable goals.

You are eligible for membership in the Medallion Society if you have named Association for the Colonial Theatre (ACT) as a beneficiary of your:

  • Will or trust
  • IRA or other retirement plan
  • Life income or other planned gift (charitable gift annuity, charitable remainder trust, or remainder interest in a personal residence)

Adding a simple bequest to your will is one way to make a planned gift to the Colonial Theatre today.
