Feature Films:
42
Directed by Brian Helgeland. US. 2013. PG-13. Running time: 128 min.
“These days, there are many less flattering things you could say about a movie than that it’s enjoyable in a square, uncomplicated, stirringly old-fashioned way. 42, a sports drama about how Jackie Robinson broke the color line in professional baseball, is in some ways a film that could have been made 30 years ago, or 50 years ago. (In fact, it was made 63 years ago: 1950′s The Jackie Robinson Story starred the legendary second baseman himself.)

In Cold Blood
Directed by Richard Brooks. US. 1967. R. Running time: 134 min.
Truman Capote’s book “In Cold Blood” became an immediate best-seller and cause celebre at the time of its publication, as it was considered to be the first non-fiction novel and provided an exceedingly detailed depiction of the events and people involved in a horrific home-invasion and slaughter of a Kansas family by two psychopathic killers in 1959. The film of this book, produced a year after the book was published, is a model of docudrama film-making.

Point Entertainment presents Marc Cohn
Tickets: $25 - $42.50. Buy tickets online.
Grammy Award-winner Marc Cohn is probably best known for his song “Walking In Memphis” along with “Silver Thunderbird” and “True Companion” off his self titled debut album. A natural storyteller, he combines the precision of a brilliant tunesmith with the passion of a great soul man. His current album “Listening Booth: 1970 ” is his take on classics like “Wild World,” “The Tears of a Clown,” “The Letter,” and “Maybe I’m Amazed.” Very excited to have Marc and Rebecca Pidgeon (David Mamet’s wife) who will open at the Colonial!
