Then & Now Organ Concert

HSPA has partnered with the Theatre Organ Society of Delaware Valley for an event at the Colonial Theatre with special guest Phoenixville native and CBS-3 Meteorologist Kate Bilo.
This event will marry music with Phoenixville history. Images of various decades will show then and now photos with organ music to match the era of the photos.
PROGRAM: As attendees are seated, Candi Carley-Roth will provide prologue music.
The Program begins at 2:00 PM with the introduction by Phoenixville’s “Mayor Pete”, a Keynote message by Kate Bilo, followed by a Buster Keaton short silent film “One Week” accompanied by organist Glenn Hough.
Following intermission, an exciting program of dynamic “pops” music will played by renowned musician Candi Carley-Roth.
THE EVENT: The concert begins at 2:00 PM with a Buster Keaton silent film accompanied by organist Glen Hough who will organize the music to accompany the film HSPA PowerPoint presentation of Phoenixville historic highlights which are part of the HSPA collection (John Keenan and Jack Ertell accompanied with music selected by Glen.
There will be an Intermission. (~20 min).
Post-intermission organ music will be offered by Candy Carley Roth (blind organist) with music of her choosing.
HSPA presentation of the expansion project for moving the main museum to a bigger space in the sanctuary with ADA accessibility (an elevator is being installed). Phase 2 of the project will also be presented. (John Keenan, President HSPA) (~ 20 min).
A post-concert reception will be held in the Garden Suite of the Colonial Theatre. The Garden Suite reception is sponsored by Randy Hove of TOSDV.
About HSPA: The HSPA, founded in 1977, whose mission is to identify, collect, preserve, interpret and disseminate materials and information about Phoenixville area history to assist and educate the public in understanding and appreciating Phoenixville area heritage and how it relates to our lives.
HSPA archives contain information on area history, families, and houses. For a small fee, the public may view the microfilm of Phoenixville newspapers from 1871 to the present day. HSPA maintains a database, Past Perfect, of items, accessioned into the collection that can be accessed and searched. Everyone is welcome to do research and to learn about the Phoenixville area’s history and heritage.
