About
Join Delaware Riverkeeper Network and Green Amendments For the Generations, in collaboration with Phoenixville Area Transition and Colonial Gardens for a screening of the documentary film, Here’s the Story: the Green Amendment.
Directed by Emmy-nominated producer Steve Rogers, the film follows national Green Amendment movement founder and Delaware Riverkeeper, Maya van Rossum, as she travels through Pennsylvania and New Jersey learning the history of Pennsylvania’s constitutional environmental rights amendment, and meets with impacted communities in New Jersey facing dire environmental challenges. While Pennsylvania already has a constitutionally recognized right to a healthy environment, New Jersey is on the path to secure this type of protection.
Following the film, there will be a panel discussion moderated by Karen Feridun, founder of Berks Gas Truth and co-founder of Better Path Coalition. Panelists include Maya van Rossum, founder of the Green Amendment movement and the Delaware Riverkeeper, and Kate Stauffer, a Pennsylvania activist who is featured in the film.
The event starts at 6pm with local environmental partners tabling in the lobby, and Reads & Company bookshop will have copies of Maya van Rossum’s new book, The Green Amendment: the People’s Fight for a Safe, Healthy and Clean Environment available for purchase.
