SYNOPSIS
For the 17th consecutive year, Shorts HD and Magnolia Pictures present the Oscar–Nominated Short Films, opening on Feb. 25th. With all three categories offered – Animated, Live Action and Documentary – this is your annual chance to predict the winners (and have the edge in your Oscar pool)! The Academy Awards take place Sunday, March 27th. Running times listed below are estimated total running times for each category.
PLEASE NOTE: This year’s Animated Shorts program is NOT KID-FRIENDLY. No children will be admitted under any circumstances. Audience members must be age 17+. Films starred below feature nudity, sexual situations, and address animal cruelty in our society, which includes forms of extreme violence. Two title cards that appear for 30 seconds before two of the Animated Shorts in question (Bestia and Windshield Wiper) will allow you time to exit the theatre if you prefer not to engage with this content. The films are thought provoking, responsive to the world in which we live, and feature a variety of animation styles, but come with an R-equivalent rating.
