Fargo (1996)
Thursday, November 12th at 7: 15 PM
Joel and Ethan Coen consolidated their standing among the major American filmmakers of their generation with Fargo, a blackly comic crime caper that juxtaposes folksy regionalism, gruesome violence, and an unexpectedly affecting vein of human warmth. William H. Macy stars as Jerry Lundegaard, a desperate Minneapolis car salesman whose spectacularly ill-conceived scheme to have his wife kidnapped sets off a chain of increasingly bloody consequences across the frozen Minnesota landscape. Enter Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand), the heavily pregnant, unfailingly polite police chief whose cheerful disposition conceals a formidable intelligence and whose investigation brings her face-to-face with acts of almost incomprehensible cruelty.

Hercules (1997) with Voice Actor Tate Donovan
Saturday, November 14th at 4:00 PM
Sponsored by Mark and Megan Connolly
Go the distance with Disney’s exuberant, gospel-infused spin on Greek mythology, featuring one of the studio’s most distinctive heroes—and the voice that brought him to life. Tate Donovan stars as Hercules, the son of Zeus who is stripped of his immortality as an infant and raised among mortals, only to discover that reclaiming his place on Mount Olympus will require proving himself a true hero. Directors John Musker and Ron Clements (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) marry the irreverent energy of a screwball comedy with Gerald Scarfe’s striking character designs and an infectious soundtrack by Alan Menken and David Zippel, including “Go the Distance” and “Zero to Hero.”
Join us for this special presentation of a beloved Disney favorite with the voice of Hercules himself, Tate Donovan, appearing in person as our special guest.
