Films at First Sight: Episode 43: Dark Passage

On January 21st, Films at First Sight sponsored our screening of ‘Dark Passage.’ They held a Noir-Themed Raffle before the screening and everyone who attended was invited to a live recording of their podcast in the Colonial’s Garden Suite. Their special guest was Matthew Sorrento. They will discuss ‘Dark Passage’, film noir, and more!

Matthew is a film professor at Rutgers University-Camden and is editor-in-chief of the journal Film International. His latest book is David Fincher’s Zodiac, and he has authored introductions to several Stark House Crime Classics.

We’re LIVE at the historic Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville, PA with special guest Matthew Sorrento where we watched 1947’s Dark Passage for the first time with an AMAZING audience. Grab a seat and listen to us chat about the film, noir tropes, the legendary couple that was Bogie and Bacall, and Matt set us all straight on how brutal the writing industry could be, particularly for author David Goodis, whose novel Dark Passage was the source material for the film.
