Phoenixville Pennsylvania’s The Colonial Theatre is well-known to horror fans as the shooting location for the iconic movie house scene from 1958’s The Blob (and for hosting the annual three-day event, Blobfest), and now they’ve dedicated the first screening in the 2021 Science On Screen® series to everyone’s favorite trash talking dream demon, Freddy Krueger!

A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) | Why Freddy Haunts Your Nightmares will be a socially-distant screening on Thursday, May 6th at 8:00 PM followed by a virtual presentation on “morbid curiosity” by Social Psychologist, Coltan Scrivner. Scrivner is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Comparative Human Development at The University of Chicago and a Fellow at the Institute for Mind and Biology in the Behavioral Biology Lab. The screening will be held in the Colonial’s 1903 Theatre, with only 99 tickets available, to allow proper social distancing. Mr. Scrivner will be chatting, live, with patrons via zoom.

Seating for this screening is limited and will follow all Colonial Theatre safety protocols.
