Parking & Directions

The Colonial Theatre is located at 227 Bridge Street, in the heart of Phoenixville’s historic business district. There are multiple parking options in Phoenixville, all of which are within a few blocks of the theatre.

Check for seasonal or event-related street closures by visiting the Borough’s website. 

Daily Free Parking – All Times

  • Two-hour street parking is available for free on Bridge Street (100, 200 and 300 blocks); Gay and Main Streets between Bridge and Church Streets.
  • Please note: 2 hour free parking is per block.
  • Additional free parking without time restrictions is available throughout the Borough where there is no residential permit parking, extending up to and beyond Reeves Park (bordered by Starr and Main Streets), depending on the street.

Sunday through Saturday until 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. 

  • Lot #1 – Prospect St – Metered. $2/hr. Passport Parking App Zone #431
  • Lot #2 – Main and Bridge Streets – Metered. $2/hr. Passport Parking App Zone #432
  • Lot #3 – Mill St – Metered. $2/hr. Passport Parking App Zone #433
  • Lot #4 – Taylor Alley Lot – Metered. $2/hr. Passport Parking App Zone #434
  • Lot #6 – Wheatland St – Metered. Passport Parking App Zone #1410
  • Lot #7 – Ashland St – Metered. Passport Parking App Zone #1412.
  • Lot #8  – Smithworks Blvd Lot – Metered. Passport Parking App Zone #1414

Monday – Friday 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday – Sunday 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

  • Lot #5– Borough Hall Lot – Metered. $1/hr. Passport Parking App Zone #435 til 10PM; no overnight parking.

Monday through Sunday – Various Times

The Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, located at 70 Holy Ghost Way, Phoenixville, PA 19460, (corner of Bridge and Starr across from Blue Bird Distilling), offers parking for a $5 suggested donation on the following days and times:

  • Monday – Saturday – 8:00 am – 12 Midnight
  • Sunday – 12 Noon -12 Midnight

During Blobfest weekend (July 14-16), parking will be available at Holy Ghost for $10.

Donations may be made by cash or electronically via Credit Card, Pay Pal, Digital Wallet or Venmo. Special arrangements for large group parking may be made by contacting Holy Ghost Church directly at (610) 933-3336.

Public Transportation

SEPTA buses 99 and 139 come through Phoenixville. You can check the schedules at www.septa.org.

Directions

From Reading or Pottstown

Take Route 422 to the Route 724/Phoenixville exit. At stop sign make left and take Route 724 into Phoenixville. Route 724 will turn into Route 23. Follow Route 23 East to Route 113 North. Make left onto 113 North (Bridge Street). Follow Bridge Street past Gay Street. The Theatre is between Gay and Main Streets on the left.

From Philadelphia

Take Route 76 to the Mall Road exit (the last exit before the turnpike toll booths) make right at light, go to next light make another right onto North Gulph Road. North Gulph will turn into Route 23 and run through Valley Forge Park. Stay on Route 23 into Phoenixville. Turn right onto Starr Street. Follow Starr Street to dead end and make a left onto Bridge Street. Follow Bridge Street through one light. The Colonial is on your right between Main and Gay Streets.

Alternate route from Philadelphia

Take Route 76 West to King of Prussia. Exit onto 422 West. Exit onto Route 29 South/Phoenixville. Route 29 becomes Bridge Street as you come into Phoenixville borough. At the traffic light at Starr Street continue straight on Bridge Street (do not turn left to continue following Route 29). The Colonial is one and a half blocks up on the right, between Main and Gay Streets.

From Northeast Philadelphia Or The Northeast Extension Of The Pa Turnpike

Take the PA Turnpike West to the Exit 326/Valley Forge/King of Prussia. After toll booths, take the first exit to your right, towards Valley Forge Park, this exit puts you on North Gulph Road which will turn into Route 23 and runs through Valley Forge Park. Stay on Route 23 into Phoenixville. Turn right onto Starr Street. Follow Starr Street to dead end and make a left onto Bridge Street. Follow Bridge through one light, the Colonial is on your right between Main and Gay Streets.

From Lancaster

Take the PA Turnpike East to Exit 312/Downingtown. Follow Route 100 South to Route 113. At light make a left, and follow Route 113 North to the intersection of Routes 113 and 23 (there is a McDonald’s and a KFC at this intersection). Make a right at the light and follow 23 East which turns left at the next light onto Bridge. Stay on Bridge Street past Gay Street. The Colonial is between Gay and Main Streets on the left.
