The Parlour Reading Series returns with a spooky classic for the Halloween season – Washington Irving’s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.  Travel back in time and take a ride through the woods with Ichabod Crane, Katrina Van Tassle, Brom Bones, and the Headless Horseman

This staged reading, adapted from the short story. brings together local performers and community voices for a shared evening of spectral haunts, a few laughs, and timeless themes. Audiences are invited to enjoy a one-night-only experience of Irving’s stunning prose and unforgettable characters in a reimagined, actor-forward format that lets the timeless tale and local talent shine.

Whether you’re a lifelong lover of Sleepy Hollow or discovering the story for the first time, we welcome you to be part of this new tradition—where great stories take center stage, and words take the spotlight.

Auditions for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow will take place on Wednesday, October 1st, from 6 pm – 9 pm in the Garden Suite at the Colonial Theatre. If you are interested in auditioning but cannot make it on October 1st, please email drew@thecolonialtheatre.com
