Rob Gordon (John Cusack) is the owner of a failing Chicago record store that sells music the old-fashioned way: on vinyl. Even Rob’s encyclopedic knowledge of pop music and biographical playlists fail to soothe him and his needle skips the love groove when long-time girlfriend, Laura (Iben Hjejle), walks out on him. As Rob examines his other failed attempts at romance and happiness, the process drags him kicking and screaming into adulthood.

Also starring Lisa Bonet and Jack Black. Based on the novel by Nick Hornby (About a Boy, Fever Pitch, Juliet, Naked).
