The Universal monsters check into family-friendly territory in Genndy Tartakovsky’s Hotel Transylvania, a breathlessly inventive animated comedy that finds its heart beneath the fangs, fur, and reanimated body parts. Tartakovsky brings the elastic timing and expressive physicality of his television work to computer animation, packing the frame with exaggerated poses, frantic movement, and rapid-fire visual gags while affectionately riffing on decades of horror iconography.
