SYNOPSIS

The Oscar-winning film that redefined the animated fairy tale, Shrek gleefully overturns storybook conventions with irreverent humor, pop-culture wit, and a surprisingly heartfelt celebration of friendship and self-acceptance. When a grumpy ogre (Mike Myers) sets out to rescue Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) in exchange for reclaiming his beloved swamp, he is joined by an irrepressibly chatty Donkey (Eddie Murphy), setting the stage for one of animation’s most unlikely (and lovable) friendships. Winning the inaugural Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, Shrek proved that fairy tales could be irreverent, heartfelt, and delightfully subversive all at once.
