A Nightmare on Bridge Street 4

35MM Screening

About

As the nights turn brisk and the shadows let loose their creatures, join us for ‘A Nightmare on Bridge Street 4’ (The Colonial Theatre’s Halloween Marathon). This year’s selection features three frightfully fun and horrific titles. First, see Jason Voorhees propelled into the future. We will supply the title fight between two of horror’s biggest icons for our second act. Our dessert for the evening will enable us to see what happens on Saturday the 14th. There will be some additional surprises too. Don’t hold back on this groovy evening. It’s our craziest Nightmare on Elm Bridge Street yet.

FILMS INCLUDED

Jason X

(Jason Isaac, United States,  2002, 1h 32min, R, 35mm)
The year is 2455. The Place is Old Earth. Once the shimmering blue jewel of the galaxy, Old Earth is now a contaminated planet abandoned for centuries. Yet humans have returned to the deadly place that they once fled. Not to live, but to research the ancient rusting artifacts of the bygone civilizations that caused this environmental disaster. And little does the most recent landing party of intrepid young explorers realize the fate that awaits them. The 35mm print is courtesy of Exhumed Films.

Freddy vs. Jason
(20th-Anniversary Screening)

(Ronnie Yu, United States,  2003, 1h 37min, R, 35mm)
Two horror icons face off in this supernatural movie. Disfigured serial killer Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), who attacks his victims in their dreams, has lost much of his power since citizens of his town have become less afraid of him. Enlisting the help of fellow violent murderer Jason Voorhees (Ken Kirzinger), Freddy orchestrates a new killing spree. However, when the hockey-mask-wearing psychopath won’t stop chopping up Freddy’s intended victims, the two ghouls start to battle each other. The 35mm print is courtesy of Warner Bros.

IT’S THE SECOND UNLUCKIEST DAY OF THE YEAR…

Saturday the 14th

(Howard R. Cohen, United States,  1981, 1h 15min, R, DCP)
Pennsylvania is beginning to look a lot like Transylvania in this beloved horror spoof! John (Richard Benjamin, LOVE AT FIRST BITE; WESTWORLD) and Mary (Paula Prentiss, THE STEPFORD WIVES) can’t believe their good fortune when they inherit the vast estate of John’s recently departed uncle. Sure, it’s a fixer-upper, but there’s nothing that can’t be taken care of with a fresh coat of paint, a little dusting … and maybe an exorcist! It turns out that they’ve just moved into the most eerie house in Erie, PA! Monsters, mayhem, and mirth descend upon the house — and only a mysterious book can save this everyday normal family from some seriously slapstick paranormal hyperactivity.
