Krampus Crypt-mas Spectacular 1984

35MM Screening

About

The Krampus Crypt-mas Spectacular returns to The Colonial Theatre with a double feature of epic proportions. Spawned from our 2020 virtual event, this in-house night of holiday horrors presents two R-rated films from 1984. Join us for our fourth annual Krampus Crypt-mas Spectacular…if you dare.

SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT

(Charles E. Seiler, Jr., USA, 1984, 82min, R, 35mm)
Santa Claus is coming to town–and this time he’s bringing an axe!
Community leaders tried to stop it. The P.T.A. fought to ban it. Now, one of the most controversial slasher films of all time is back on the big screen. Silent Night, Deadly Night is the demented story of little Billy Chapman, traumatized by the Christmas Eve murders of his parents and subsequent brutal treatment by sadistic orphanage nuns. Grown-up Billy dresses as Santa and goes on a yuletide rampage to punish the naughty with extreme prejudice. Robert Brian Wilson and Linnea Quigley (Night of the Demons) star in this harrowing horror classic that, almost 40 years later, continues to ruffle the feathers of angry parents and stuffy critics.

DON’T OPEN TILL CHRISTMAS

(Edmund Purdom, UK, 1984, 87min, R, DCP)
“A Christmas turkey (with side trimming of cheese, natch) par excellence!”  – DVD Verdict
In yuletide London, a mysterious villain in a grinning translucent mask is murdering Santa Claus impersonators. New Scotland Yard inspectors are on the case, but can they solve it before other innocent Santas fall? Written by Alan Birkinshaw, who directed The Masque of the Red Death. Just not the Vincent Price version. The Frank Stallone version. So, you know…
