About

One of the foundational works of Western literature receives an epic new screen adaptation in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Drawing on Homer’s immortal poem, the film follows Odysseus, the legendary king of Ithaca, as his decade-long voyage home after the Trojan War becomes a perilous odyssey through a world of vengeful gods, mythical creatures, and impossible temptations. Confronting the Cyclops Polyphemus, the enchanting Sirens, the sorceress Circe, and the nymph Calypso, Odysseus must rely on his cunning as much as his courage in the hope of returning to his wife Penelope and reclaiming his kingdom. Reimagining one of civilization’s oldest stories for the modern screen, Nolan brings Homer’s timeless tale of perseverance, identity, and homecoming to breathtaking cinematic life.
