    NOIR CITY: Philadelphia returns to Phoenixville’s historical Colonial Theatre November 14-16, 2025, for a three-day extravaganza.  Join Film Noir Foundation founder and TCM host Eddie Muller for a festival featuring a film lineup that shines the spotlight on women whose cinematic legacy is entwined with the rise of film noir.

    Many of this year’s films star the six actresses profiled in Muller’s Dark City Dames: The Wicked Women of Film Noir, reissued this year in a newly revised and expanded edition. Jane Greer, Audrey Totter, Evelyn Keyes, Ann Savage, Coleen Gray, and Marie Windsor are the core cadre of women featured in this year’s program.

    SYNOPSIS

    Ella Raines is “one hep kitten” as she high-heels her way through the noir demimonde, searching for the one woman who can save her boss from a murder rap. Director Siodmak wrings every bit of shadowy mystery from the novel by master of suspense Cornell Woolrich. Producer Joan Harrison (once Alfred Hitchcock’s protégé) announced herself as the most creative female producer in the business with this suspense classic.
