NOIR CITY: Philadelphia returns to Phoenixville’s historical Colonial Theatre November 14-16, 2025, for a three-day extravaganza. Join Film Noir Foundation founder and TCM host Eddie Muller for a festival featuring a film lineup that shines the spotlight on women whose cinematic legacy is entwined with the rise of film noir.

Many of this year’s films star the six actresses profiled in Muller’s Dark City Dames: The Wicked Women of Film Noir, reissued this year in a newly revised and expanded edition. Jane Greer, Audrey Totter, Evelyn Keyes, Ann Savage, Coleen Gray, and Marie Windsor are the core cadre of women featured in this year’s program.

SYNOPSIS

Audrey Totter pulls out all the stops portraying her ultimate ‘bad girl,” vile voluptuary Claire Quimby, in one of the most underrated noir films of the forties. Richard Basehart plays a milquetoast pharmacist married to the over-sexed and chronically unfaithful Claire. But this sad sack has a plan to get revenge.
