SYNOPSIS

Rob Reiner’s adaptation of a novella by Stephen King begins as a boyhood adventure and gradually reveals itself as something more reflective and bittersweet. Set in the summer of 1959, it follows four friends who leave their small Oregon town in search of a missing body, their journey unfolding against the backdrop of first encounters with mortality, class, and adulthood. Narrated from a distance of many years, Stand by Me remains a poignant meditation on friendship, memory, and the people who shape us before we know who we are.
