About
“As charming as the C.S. Forester novel on which it is based, The African Queen is top flight entertainment, delightful, different, always interesting. It is filled with excitement and adventure and sparked by superlative performances from Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart.” – The Hollywood Reporter
FILM SYNOPSIS
After a religious spinster’s (Katharine Hepburn) missionary brother is killed in WWI Africa, a dissolute steamer captain (Humphrey Bogart) offers her safe passage. During their contentious trip, she persuades him to destroy a German gunboat. That objective is forgotten in the midst of constant argument – and their time alone on the river leads to love.
