Captured during Led Zeppelin’s legendary three-night stand at Madison Square Garden in the summer of 1973, The Song Remains the Same preserves the band at the height of its thunderous, arena-filling powers. Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, and John Bonham tear through an epic set featuring “Rock and Roll,” “Dazed and Confused,” “Stairway to Heaven,” and “Whole Lotta Love,” while backstage footage and elaborate fantasy sequences offer a suitably eccentric glimpse into the mythology surrounding one of rock’s biggest bands. Part concert film, part backstage chronicle, and part psychedelic reverie, The Song Remains the Same captures both the monumental sound and larger-than-life mystique of Led Zeppelin at its 1970s zenith.
