SYNOPSIS

Shot on the streets of Dublin in just 17 days, John Carney’s quietly extraordinary musical romance became one of the great independent success stories of the 2000s. Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová star as an Irish busker and a Czech immigrant whose chance encounter blossoms into a deeply affecting creative partnership as they write, rehearse, and record a series of songs that gradually reveal their hopes, disappointments, and unspoken feelings.
