Leave a Legacy
In 1902, when the Colonial Theatre’s founder, Harry Brownback, lifted the curtain on its stage for the very first time, he could not have imagined that his modest dream to bring renowned entertainers and films to his community would persist for over a century. Through two World Wars, countless technological changes, two pandemics, and the loss of Phoenix Steel Company, Brownback’s theatre continues to glow.
His investment has enlivened the lives of hundreds of thousands with film and the performing arts – but not without the added generosity, passion, and commitment from similarly visionary patrons.
Volunteer
Volunteering at the Colonial is a great way to meet fellow arts-lovers in the community and be part of the historic Colonial Theatre's future!
Accessibility
Colonial Theatre staff aim to create an entertaining and positive memorable experience for every audience member. Prior to your visit, reach out to let us know how we can meet your needs.
The Shorty’s Short Film Contest
Each year, inspired by the same muse that sang to Director Irvin “Shorty” Yeaworth Jr. when he conceived of The Blob, filmmakers of all ages compose entries for our Annual Shorty’s Short Film Contest. Go boldly, friends, and let your iPhones and imaginations propel you ever onward to Shorty’s glory!
Ticketing & Seating
There are three different theatres within the Colonial Theatre: the Berry, the White Rabbit, and the 1902. Most films are General Admission seating, while concerts are typically reserved seating.
